This reserve covers an area of hilly terrain in dry semi-deciduous forest zone. All evidence available indicates that the Nkwanta District is very rich in game and wildlife. Kyabobo is blessed with beautiful scenic views and great many waterfalls

Location:
Located in the Volta Region of Ghana, Nkwanta district is the northerly conservation area. It is a hilly region with heights up to about 750m. The park is 130km away from the regional capital and10km from the Nkwanta, the district capital.

Size: The Park is about 360km2.
Vegetation: It is situated in the dry semi-deciduous zones, it has savannah at lower levels and montane forest higher up the slopes.
Key fauna: Fauna associated with this park include baboons, buffalo, warthogs, duikers, bongo, waterbuck, red river hog and a variety of birds

Other Features: Laboun waterfalls, Hilly terrains, Caves

Communities: Hanging village of Shairi (16km from Nkwanta), Amedzofe village (picturesque hilltop settlement of amazing beauty, which rests at 2500 feet above the sea level), Kete-Krachi (old Kete-Krachi slave route)

Festival: The festival of the area is Dzogyi-Ble (Yam Festival)

Visitors who want to visit this site must bring their own tents, mosquito net, mosquito repellent, sleeping pads and/ or cots for use at campsite
